  1. Q: When I Align the screen it refuses to let me continue the installation, what can I do?

    A: The Align function on the Nautiz X5 is very sensitive to make it as precise as possible, on some units you need to do this up to 5-6 times before it is satisfied.

  2. Q: I have a QWERTY Nautiz X5 unit, how do I make a hard reset?

    A: Hold the button "T" pressed down while you make a click on the reset button in the back. When you can see the Handheld logo you can release the "T". This will hard reset your unit.

  3. Q: I have a numeric Nautiz X5 unit, how do I make a hard reset?

    A: Hold the button "1" pressed down while you make a click on the reset button in the back. When you can see the Handheld logo you can release the "T". This will hard reset your device.

  4. Q: I want to make a factory reset/erase everything on the unit to make it "new", how can I do that?

    A: There is no built in factory reset available on the Nautiz X5, you will need to download the OS files and run a complete reinstallation of the OS and ProgramStore folder.

  5. Q: What COM port should I use to connect to my GPS?

    A: COM8 at 9600 baudrate.

  6. Q. My GPS seems to be very slow in terms of acquiring a fix, what can I do?

    A: If you connect to your GPS and then shut down the unit by pressing the power button once and wait for about 2-4 minutes and then start the unit up again you should have a fix.

  7. Q. What type of barcodes does the reader inside the Nautiz X5 support?

  8. Q. The terminal is wet and is not responding, What can I do?

    A: Remove the battery from the terminal and wipe it dry, while you let the unit dry off. If the problem persists, please contact our support department or any of our service centers.

  9. Q. How do I setup my unit so it works with GPRS connection?

  10. Q. What COMport do I assign my software to when using the RS232?

    A: COM7 is the port for the RS232.

  11. Q: How do I locate the IMEI number for my device?

    A: Pull up the phone screen, type *#06# to call up the devices IMEI number. You will receive a 17-digit number, the IMEI number is the first 15 digits.

  12. BATTERY CARE

    Q: Is it best to store my unit with the batteries in or out of the device if the units won't be used for a while?

    A: It's best to store batteries separately, charged to 40-50 percent, in a colder environment - 0 C to 10 C.

  13. Q: Should I charge my battery every day, even if it isn't out of power?

    A: Since today's batteries no longer have a "memory effect," harming battery efficiency with daily charging is no longer an issue. You can recharge them as often as you'd like.

  14. Q: Is there any reason to run a battery all the way down before recharging?

    A: No, there's not! For the best performance, avoid completely running down your lithium cell, and charge when you reach 5 percent battery remaining.

  15. Q: How long should I expect a battery to last with standard use? What are the signs that I should get a new battery?

    A: Expected lifetime is approximately 500 charges. Typically, an old battery will drain very quickly from 100 percent to about a half charge.
